CNR-ISMAR’s expertise ranges from the development and application of numerical models dedicated to physical, biogeochemical and wave oceanography, to the study of coupled ocean-atmosphere fluxes as well as the assimilation of oceanographic data by optimally combining in situ and remote sensing observations, including with Lagrangian methodologies. The activity also consists of development and application of prototype operational modeling chains for the study of physical and biogeochemical processes in the land-sea continuum in response to emergent issues such as anthropogenic impacts, extreme events, and climate change.
