The meteorological-marine station is located in a hut on the outer side Molo (Quay) Fratelli Bandiera, in Trieste harbour. Observations were made for short periods in 1986-1993, but regular operation, even if with interruptions, dates back to 1999. The infrastructure has been completely refurbished during the last two years. Measurements are performed of air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, all of which at 10-m height, and sea temperature at 0.4-, 2- and 6-m depth. The data are held in the archive of ISMAR in Trieste. The station is included in the European Infrastructure Danubius. A historical time series of sea temperature, reconstructed also thanks to observations made at other sites in the harbour area, is available through SEANOE (https://www.seanoe.org/data/00476/58728/). Moreover, the station hosts instruments operated by the Civil Protection of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.
